Auxiliary Police.

What: A team of trained citizen volunteers who assist Police with non-enforcement duties and value added services that allow Officers to focus on crime reduction. Members do not take enforcement action, carry weapons, or make arrests. Positions available include: Citizens Patrol, Administrative Support, and Technical Services.

Boyd Esler Senior/Community Center

What: In partnership with the community, the Springfield Senior/Community Center provides a continuum of services to improve the quality of life for Springfield Township residents and surrounding areas, focusing on vulnerable elderly and at - risk adults. This is accomplished through planning, coordination, facilitating, advocating, and providing appropriate services in a manner that recognizes diversity, responsive, respectful, and promotes the dignity and well being of the individual.

Parks Board

What: The Parks Board is a group of dedicated volunteers who are working to supply the Springfield Township community with quality parks and programming in the most cost effective and mutually beneficial manner for all of our citizens. They work with the approval of the Township Trustees and have formed good working relationships with Summit County, the Ohio Division of Natural Resources, surrounding municipalities, and MetroParks Serving Summit County.
Mission Statement:
    -    To promote, provide, and maintain safe, accessible, financially sustainable, and environmentally friendly parks and programs to all residents of Springfield Township.
    -    To promote and provide parks, educational, and recreational services and programs to match the needs and wants of the community.
    -    To support sustainability and conservation of natural resources and undeveloped ecologically sensitive areas in existing and any future parks.
When:   Planning throughout the year. Work is ongoing based on programming and initiatives. Many opportunities to help with gardening, trail creation and maintenance, recreational and sports activities, parks development and renewal.

Rock The Docks

What: A three-day community celebration utilizing the north and south sides of beautiful Springfield Lake. It takes place along the south shore at Dodd’s Park on Lakeside Drive in Lakemore and along the north shore on Canfield Road in Springfield. Entertainment, rides and games for kids, area vendors, food and fireworks make up the festivities. Volunteers are needed in the following categories: Sales Booths, Pontoon Rides, Ice and Pop, Transportation, Set Up/Clean Up, Promotion, etc.
When: Planning throughout the year. Event runs in summer.

Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce

What: The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, membership-driven organization of community businesses and entrepreneurs. It's a community where encouraging business merges seamlessly with an emphasis on quality of life. It’s mission is to support entrepreneurs and businesses with a commitment to education and development within our Community.

Springfield Cares

What: This is a charitable organization that helps folks with payment of utilities, groceries, gasoline and clothing.  Recipients must be residents of Springfield Township and qualify financially for assistance. Donations accepted. 
When: Active throughout the year but primarily during the holidays.

Springfield Township Historical Society

What: Collects and preserves historical information from Springfield Township. Documents and stores the information in town hall.

Springfield Township Veterans' Committee

What: This Committee raises funds for the Veterans’ Memorial on Canfield Rd. The members also place purchased pavers in the memorial as well as general maintenance of the site, ensures that the flag is placed at half mast when necessary, hosts annual Memorial Day Ceremony and provides veterans with information that pertains to them.

Springfield Youth Sports Council/JEDD Park Operation

What: Sports Complex including four baseball/softball fields and a soccer field.
When: Planning throughout the year. Volunteer during the spring/summer/fall months.
